Another coordination meeting between the Austrian and Italian customs authorities took place yesterday in Trieste. The authorities at the highest level met in the large, magnificent hall of the Port Authority of Trieste, the former Austrian Lloyd arsenal and shipyard of Austrian Lloyd, to clarify outstanding details on the implementation of the 1st European rail customs corridor. The focus was, among other things, on customs law issues such as the cross-border monitoring of the customs corridor and the digital networking of the two European authorities in order to enable a safe, fast and transparent customs procedure.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the two future bonded warehouse operators Rail Cargo Austria (F\u00fcrnitz) and Adriafer (Trieste), who have been working closely together for years, defined a comprehensive IT project that is intended to ensure that all transport and goods information can be exchanged digitally quickly and unbureaucratically in order to guarantee fast customs clearance for customers.<\/p>\n<p>As a prelude to these very technical discussions, there was an exciting tour of the port, above all the locations of the current customs clearance and the future bonded warehouse operator Adriafer, the new terminal PLT, a young joint venture of the Port of Hamburg and the Trieste-based forwarding company Parisi.<\/p>\n<p>The intense but extremely successful retreat ended around 4:00 p.m. with a real Trieste espresso in a traditional Italian bar.<\/p>\n<p>Here are a few impressions of the harbor tour:<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fuernitz, 09\/27\/2022.
